One Phone Call Moving
Insurance Policy
1. Basic Coverage (Included)
- All moves include standard limited liability protection at $0.60 per pound per item, as required by federal regulations.
- This coverage is included at no additional cost.
- It applies to loss or damage caused during the move.
- Compensation is based on weight, not item value.
2. Full Value Protection (Optional)
- Customers may choose Full Value Protection for an additional fee.
Under this coverage, we will:
- Repair the damaged item, OR
- Replace the item with a similar one, OR
- Provide compensation based on current market value
Important:
- High-value items must be declared before the move.
- Deductibles may apply depending on the selected plan.
3. Items Not Covered
The following items are not covered unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Cash, jewelry, and valuables
- Important documents (passports, legal papers)
- Electronics not packed by our team
- Plants, perishable goods
- Items of extraordinary value not declared
4. Packing & Liability
- Items packed by One Phone Call Moving are covered under the selected protection plan.
- Items packed by the customer (PBO – Packed by Owner) are not covered for internal damage.
- Damage due to improper packing by the customer is not the company’s responsibility.
5. Claims Process
- All claims must be submitted within 7 days after delivery.
- Customers must provide photos and a detailed description of the damage.
- Claims will be reviewed and resolved within 14–30 business days.
6. Delays & Unforeseen Events
We are not responsible for delays or damages caused by:
- Weather conditions
- Traffic or road closures
- Mechanical issues beyond control
- Acts of God
7. Customer Responsibility
- Ensure all items are properly prepared for moving
- Remove or secure fragile/high-value items
- Be present during loading and unloading for inspection
8. Additional Insurance
- Customers are encouraged to purchase third-party moving insurance for high-value shipments if additional protection is desired.
